I live and teach on the west coast of Scotland on the beautiful Isle of Seil. As a yoga practitioner for over 14 years and a teacher for five, I am inspired every day by the sense of community and connection that yoga nurtures.
My personal yoga practice and teaching does not fall neatly under one label but is the result of ongoing personal exploration, drawing together threads as diverse as Scaravelli inspired practice and traditional pranayama. The practice is one of attention, of ease in movement, of acceptance of what is manifesting and felt in the present moment, in body, breath, speech and mind.
Most recently I have been training with Ben Wolff at the Breathing Institute, exploring the power of coherent breathing (very different from yogic breathing) and the amazing benefits it can have for many everyday conditions, from anxiety to poor sleep. My trainings are ongoing, and will soon specifically cover help for long covid and for the menopause. Meanwhile, we explore the fundamental breaths in the Thursday evening sessions.
