About Karen & Isle Yoga
I live and teach on the west coast of Scotland on the beautiful Isle of Seil. As a yoga practitioner for over 18 years and a teacher for 10, I am inspired every day by the sense of community and connection that yoga nurtures.
My personal yoga practice and teaching does not fall neatly under one label but is the result of ongoing personal exploration, drawing together threads as diverse as Scaravelli inspired practice under the guidance of Sandra Sabatini and Michal Havkin, functional movement with Pete Blackaby and Gary Carter, and traditional pranayama with Anne Lonsdale. The practice is one of attention to the breath as we relate to gravity and space, of ease in movement, of acceptance of what is manifesting and felt in the present moment, in body, breath, speech and mind.

Teaching never feels like a 'job'; guiding students through a practice is a privelege every single time. I am so grateful for everyone who walks through the door of the studio, they teach me so much - and we always have a giggle at some point! We take the practice seriously, but not ourselves.
